Financial accountability

ICMC received USD 20.9 million from various donors and ICMC Members in 2008, allowing ICMC to better respond to a yet increasing number of uprooted people in need.   Representing a  5 percent increase as compared to 2007, the financial income growth rates seen in 2008 confirm the important growth trend of 65.5 percent seen over the past four years.

Nonetheless, 2008 will also be remembered for exchange rate difficulties in the context of the global economic downturn, which had an inevitable effect on financial resources towards migrants.  In these times of crisis, we believe that investment in dignity-centred programming and conscientious financial stewardship within the shrinking humanitarian space is all that much more important, which is why, is 2008, we spent USD 18.8 million on direct services to beneficiaries.
